Cookie Policy
This policy explains how Best Site uses cookies and similar technologies on this website, what choices you have and how to change them.
What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep. The browser sends it back with later requests, which is how a site can keep you signed in or remember a choice you have made.
Browsers also offer local storage and session storage: places where a site can keep small pieces of data on your device. Unlike a cookie, this data is not sent to the server with every request. Session storage belongs to one tab and is cleared when the tab is closed. In this policy the word “cookies” covers all of them.
A first-party cookie is set by the site you are visiting. A third-party cookie is set by another company whose content is loaded on the page.
Who we are and how to contact us
This website is operated by Best Site. We decide which cookies the site uses and we are responsible for them.

The categories we use and why
We group cookies into three categories. They are the same ones you see in “Cookie settings”.
- Strictly necessary
- Used for signing in, security and the settings you choose yourself, such as the language and this cookie choice. The site cannot work without them.
- Analytics
- Would help us understand how the site is used so that we can improve it. Not used at present.
- Marketing and advertising
- Would let us measure advertising campaigns and show you relevant offers on other sites. Not used at present.
Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent: without them the site cannot do what you ask of it — sign you in, remember the settings you choose, protect your account — so they are always on.
Analytics and marketing cookies are used only with your consent. They stay off until you allow them, and refusing them does not limit what you can do on the site.
At present Best Site uses no analytics and no marketing cookies, and no analytics or advertising service is loaded on this site. If that changes, we will update this page and ask for your choice again before anything of the kind is used.

Third-party services
Two kinds of third-party services can be involved when you sign in. We use them only for sign-in and security, never for analytics or advertising.
Security check on the sign-in form
When you sign in with a code sent by e-mail, a security check (captcha) from an outside provider protects the request for that code from automated programs. The provider is Cloudflare Turnstile or Google reCAPTCHA, depending on how the service is set up. Its script is loaded only when the sign-in form that offers the e-mail code is shown, not before. To tell people from automated programs, the provider may set its own cookies or use the storage of your browser, as described in its own privacy policy.
We treat this check as strictly necessary because it protects the sign-in form and your account, and we use it for nothing else.
Sign-in with Google or Apple
Where sign-in with Google or Apple is offered, the buttons are ordinary links to our own site: by themselves they load nothing from Google or Apple. Only when you choose one of them does your browser go to the sign-in page of that company, where its own cookie policy applies. While that sign-in is in progress we keep a short-lived cookie so that the answer returns to the browser that started it; if your account is protected by an authenticator, a second short-lived cookie carries that step. If you have not chosen a language, the tab also keeps the language of the page you left, so that you return to the site in it.
We treat this as strictly necessary because it happens only when you ask to sign in this way.
How to change or withdraw your choice
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time in “Cookie settings”: you will find it at the bottom of every page, and the button below opens the same settings. A change applies at once.
You can also delete or block cookies in the settings of your browser. If you block strictly necessary cookies, signing in will stop working. Deleting cookies also deletes your choice, so we will ask you again.
The Global Privacy Control signal
Global Privacy Control is a browser setting that tells websites you do not want your personal data to be sold or shared. If your browser sends this signal and you have not made a choice on this site, we treat the signal as a refusal of analytics and marketing cookies and do not show the cookie banner.
You can still decide otherwise in “Cookie settings”. A choice you save there takes precedence over the signal.
How long we remember your choice
We keep your choice in a cookie in your browser for 6 months from the day you made it, and then ask again. We also ask again when the categories, or what they are used for, change.
The site saves this cookie the moment you choose, and our server sets it again when it records your choice. If your choice could not be sent to the server, only the cookie saved by the site remains, and some browsers keep a cookie saved that way for a shorter time: Safari, for example, for 7 days at most. In that case we will ask you again sooner. Until you answer, analytics and marketing cookies stay off.
So that we can show what was chosen, our server keeps a record of each choice: the choice itself, the version of this policy, the date and time, whether it was made in the banner or in “Cookie settings”, the language of the site, technical details of the request (a protected form of your network address and information about your browser) and, if you are signed in, your account. We delete these records after 36 months.
Your choice applies to the browser in which you made it: each browser and each device is asked separately, also when you are signed in.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the cookies we use, or the way we use them, change. The date at the top of the page shows the latest update.
If a change affects what we ask your consent for, we will ask for your choice again.
